Wednesday Evening Crash Leaves One Dead in Plattekill

Police received a 911 call from a what Town of Plattekill Police Chief Jack Ryan is calling a good samaritan, of a man driving on Route 32 northbound in Plattekill erratically and crossing over the median.
The accident occurred about 1 mile north of New Hurley Road. When police arrived they found a gray Mercedes Benz SUV driven by 49 year old Christopher Quintana crashed into the woman’s car. The 70 year old driver was traveling southbound at the time.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was not released pending notification of family.
Quintana was air lifted to Westchester Medical Center where his condition is unknown at this time.
State Police accident reconstruction personnel, Modena Fire and Rescue, Plattekill Fire Department, and the Ulster County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.

Town Police in Plattekill Thursday identified a woman killed in a head-on crash on Route 32 Wednesday night as Jean Schuyler, 70, of the hamlet of Wallkill.
