Wanted Man Lead City of Newburgh Police on Foot Chase

Field Training Officer Anthony Giudice and rookie officer Charles Cruz were on patrol on March 4th just before 7:00 PM. when officer Giudice saw Pierris Morgan in the area of City Terrace. Morgan has been arrested multiple times by the City of Newburgh Police and was known to Officer Giudice knew to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Officers stopped the patrol vehicle and exited. Officers identified themselves and advised Morgan he was under arrest. Morgan ran and fled through an alley towards Dubois Street with Officer
Cruz giving chase.

During the chase, Morgan tossed a plastic bag and was apprehended shortly thereafter.

The bag was recovered and contained 8 grams of crack cocaine.

Morgan, 19 of Middletown, had two bench warrants and was also charged with Resisting Arrest, Criminal Possession of a
Controlled Substance 4th and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd.
