Nov 25th, 2011 | By | Category: Entertainment

Volta Trio, a percussion group co-founded and led by Newburgh native Christopher Clarino, will present a concert titled “The American Mosaic: A Portrait in Percussion” on December 3rd at 7pm at the Up Front Exhibition Space. Chris will be joined by McGill University Master’s students Preston Beebe and Zach Hale.

Through their passionate, high-energy performances and clinics, Volta Trio strives to inspire, educate and entertain their audiences. Volta Trio performs regularly throughout Northeast USA, including appearances at Carnegie Hall, Georgetown University, Harvard College and as soloists with the Eastman Wind Ensemble and the SUNY Fredonia Wind Ensemble.

Besides their formal concert season, the trio is committed to the future of the performing arts and fostering a love of music through educational programs. Volta Trio is also a strong advocate of new music. They have commissioned and premiered several works by both established and upcoming composers in an attempt to broaden and enrich the percussion trio repertoire.

This concert is funded, in part, by Orange County Tourism and the County of Orange.
