On November 29, 2011, at about 11:30pm State Police at Kingston – Troop T, received a complaint of a vehicle at Saugerties West interchange that could not provide payment and started to make a illegal U-turn.
Troopers arrived and found the vehicle operator highly intoxicated. Further investigation showed the vehicle to be stolen out of the state of Vermont.
Troopers arrested LAWRENCE F. JAQUES age 24 of Hancock, Vermont for Criminal possession of stolen property, DWI, unlicenced operation, and making an illegal u-turn.
He was arraigned in the Town of Saugerties court and remanded to Ulster county Jail in lieu of $5000 bail.
