United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region’s annual Touch-A-Truck logo contest for children ages 3 to 17 in Dutchess and Orange Counties is now underway.
The winning logo will be prominently displayed on all promotional materials for the 6th annual Touch-A-Truck event to be held June 9 at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Middletown.
Prizes will also be awarded to the top three contest winners.
Entry forms are available online at www.uwdor.org/truck.
Children should draw a picture of their favorite vehicle such as a trailer, fire, tow or dump truck; street sweeper; concrete mixer; tractor; crane; excavator; race car; or, police or other emergency vehicle. Drawings should be made on the logo contest form or on a separate sheet of paper. All drawings must be no larger than 5 inches high by 7 inches wide and must be hand-drawn in no more than four colors using crayon, colored pencil or marker. No letters or words are to be used in the drawing. Deadline for all entries is March 18.
More than 3,000 people are expected to attend the event which will give children an opportunity to see, touch and photograph more than 50 vehicles such as cherry pickers, concrete mixers, trucks of all types and emergency vehicles.
The annual event raises funds for United Way to forge partnerships with nonprofits to collaborate on building a stronger, healthier community and provide lasting and positive change in our community for our friends and neighbors.
