ULSTER COUNTY VETERANS RECEIVE LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMAS IN APPRECIATION OF SERVICE TO OUR COUNTY

Ulster Works OneStop hosted a ceremony honoring Ulster County Veterans who received their high school diplomas through the Operation Recognition Program.

County Executive Michael Hein, who delivered the keynote address at this event, said, “We are honored to offer this recognition to our local Veterans.  They have sacrificed so much to protect our freedoms and this recognition is the least we can do to demonstrate our appreciation. The Ulster Works One Stop is a great resource for the veterans of Ulster County and I urge them to take advantage of the services offered.”

Operation Recognition is a program that awards high school diplomas to “any veteran of the armed forces who served in Vietnam, Korea or World War II, who was unable, for any reason, to complete a secondary education … based on knowledge and experience gained while in the service.”

High school principals from local schools who signed the diplomas were present to offer words of appreciation and congratulations to the Veterans.
