COUNTY EXECUTIVE MIKE HEIN ANNOUNCES THE MENTIONING OF ULSTER COUNTY IN ‘ORBITZ ORIGINALS: NEW YORK STATE’ VIDEO SERIES
Numerous recreational opportunities in area recognized by leading travel site
Ulster County Executive Mike Hein has announced that a number of Ulster County hotspots have been mentioned in a segment of an exclusive seven-part video series by leading online travel company Orbitz Worldwide. The series, titled “Orbitz Originals: New York State,” profiles the numerous tourist attractions of New York, including several unique opportunities available to visitors in Ulster County.
The video series is hosted by award-winning travel expert Richard Bangs and covers several bountiful regions of the state, including Ulster County. Catskills and Adirondacks regions are the first videos in the series, which focuses on highlighting both popular and lesser-known recreational opportunities to educate viewers on the history and culture of the entire state – beyond just New York City.
“We are very pleased to see Ulster County specifically referenced in this new Orbitz video series, as it adds to the outstanding recognition we’ve already earned as a true destination for visitors to our state,” said Hein. “Ulster County and the Hudson Valley as a whole have so much to offer people looking for a great travel opportunity. Seeing some the highlights of our county reported to potential tourists by a world-class travel expert will continue to raise the profile of our area to people looking for a unique vacation or trip.”
Ulster County, known for its rich culture and abundant attractions, shows off its iconic locales in the video titled “Catskills: Never Too Cool.” The video provides the history of Senate House, pottery thrown at Byrcliffe, shopping in Woodstock and relaxing at the world-class Emerson Resort and Spa. These and other locales have paved the way for strong interest in the region, making it a noteworthy destination for many vacationing individuals and families.
The county also features several natural attractions highlighted in the Orbitz video series. Bangs embarks on a prolific journey through the Catskill Mountains and the Adirondacks, showcasing first-hand the natural beauty of these eye-catching destinations.
“There’s really so much that Ulster County and the Hudson Valley region have to offer travelers,” Ulster County Tourism Director Richard J. Remsnyder said. “Our attractions cater to all types of interests, including historical venues, performance art and cultural institutions, natural scenic beauties and, of course, a thriving food and beverage industry.”
