A Town of Newburgh man is facing numerous charges following a domestic dispute.
At about 11:35PM this past Saturday evening, Town of Newburgh Police responded to a private residence on Fostertown Road for a reported Domestic Assault. At the scene, officers found a 70 year old male resident who reported that he had been assaulted by a younger relative who also lived in the residence. The victim reported that he was threatened with a large kitchen knife and was both struck in the head and shocked with a taser gun. The victim was later treated at St. Luke’s emergency room for head injuries and released.
Steven DeLeon, age 32, was arrested at the scene and charged with the following:
-Crim. Possession of a Weapon (3 counts; one Felony and two misdemeanors)
-Assault 2nd (Felony)
DeLeon was arraigned in Town Court and remanded to Orange County Jail on $4,000 bail.
