Town of Newburgh Home Damaged By Afternoon Fire

A Town of Newburgh home was severely damaged by a Monday afternoon fire.

Firefighters from Orange Lake, Winona Lake, Coldenham, Cronomer Valley, Plattekill and the City of Newburgh fought the fire for over 45 minutes. According to Orange Lake Fire Chief, the fire was accelerated after a propane tank in the back of the home exploded. Firefighters were being rotated to avoid any heat related injuries because of yesterday’s humid conditions.

A woman inside the residence was alerted to the fire by a neighbor who saw the back of the Princess Lane house on fire. Because of yesterday’s heat and humidity, firefighters had to be rotated out to avoid

Town of Newburgh Volunteer Ambulance was on standy at the scene. There were no reported injuries.
