Temple Hill Academy proudly hosted its first annual Relay Recess on Friday, June 8, 2012. The Opening Ceremony showcased Temple Hill’s faculty and staff survivors who headed the walk around the school track with all students from kindergarten to sixth grade.
In total, Temple Hill School raised $5,164 to support the American Cancer Society. Principal Roberto Cruz stated that he was very proud to host the Relay Recess and even more excited about the support the Temple Hill School community demonstrated toward such a worthy cause.
Relay Recess was sponsored by the American Cancer Society to enhance students’ awareness on healthy life styles, to increase community service and educate students to make sound choices for a long, healthy life. The Temple Hill Honor Society and sixth grade students were the catalyst in making this event a success along with faculty Judy LeRoy, R.N., Maura Koenecke, R.N., Kathi Bose, Juana Cantoral, Maryann Corbett, Chris Green, Jamie MacArthur, Ann Marie Morales, Lance Myles, and Frances Weller.
Temple Hill Academy’s faculty, staff, parents, students and community members have demonstrated their commitment to education and funding research to have a world with more “birthdays!”
