On the morning of November 29, 2012 the City of Newburgh Police Detective Division began an investigation into an alleged rape that occurred on the first floor of a Renwick Street home.
The investigation revealed that during the morning hours of November 29, 2012 a 16 year old female went to the residence to purchase marijuana. Once inside the apartment she was alleged to have been raped by 49 year old Trevor A. Cole, who resides in the apartment and was the sole occupant at the time.
Later that day, the City of Newburgh Police Detective Division and Narcotics Unit conducted a search warrant of the first floor apartment located at 178 Renwick Street. The apartment was processed as a crime scene. 116 grams of marijuana was also recovered.
Cole was charged with Rape in the third degree, Rape in the first degree, Unlawful Imprisonment in the first degree and Criminal Possession of Marihuana. He was held pending arraignment in the City of Newburgh Court.
