Entergy employee arrested for stealing copper wire from Indian Point site and selling it to a scrap yard for several thousand dollars
On january 25, 2013, at approximately 8:40 AM, State Police in Cortlandt arrested 40 year old Christopher L. Albea, at his residence in Wappingers Falls, after an on-going investigation into internal theft of equipment and material from the Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant, in Buchanan.
Albea, employed in the Maintenance Department, was charged with Felony Grand Larceny after a joint investigation involving the State Police and Entergy Corp., owner and operator of Indian Point, determined that he removed several thousand pounds of copper wire in excess of $10,000.00 value from the site and sold it to a Dutchess County Scrap yard, where he received several thousand dollars in cash.
This arrest is related to a previous arrest of employee Theodore Kozelka on January 11, 2013 for 2nd degree Grand Larceny.
Albea was arraigned in the Town of Cortlandt Justice Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $1,000.00 cash bail to appear in the Village of Buchanan Court on Tuesday January 29, 2013 at 4:00 PM.
