The Newburgh Rowing Club will hold its Second Annual Corsairs Cup Scholarship Awards and Dinner June 6, said Team Mom LoBiondo. At 6 pm, during a free event at the Boathouse, a new 8+ Crew Shell called the “Assemblyman Kirwan” will be presented to his widow and two Scholarships will be awarded: the Tremblay Memorial Scholarship and the Mennerich Honorary Scholarship, to two high school students. There will be a Marine Color Guard and Dave McTamaney will MC. The event is free and open to the public.
At 7 pm, at a dinner at the River Grill, the Corsairs Cup will be awarded to Dr. William Lee for his years of dedication. Assemblyman Kirwan will be remembered by Keynote Speakers Senator Larkin and Nan Hayworth. Guests include Mayor Kennedy, Orange County Legislator Benton, Steve Neuhaus, and NECSD BOE president Dawn Fucheck and Newburgh Town Clerk Andy Zarutskie.
Tickets are $100 pp in advance of which $70 is tax deductible. There will be a cash bar and Silent Auction with items from Wine Baskets to Kayak Adventure Packages, said Team Mom Juliana LoBiondo. All net proceeds go to support the youth rowing programs and scholarships.
