Schreibman Receives Rensselaer County Democratic EndorsementJun 6th, 2012 | By HV Insider | Category: Police Briefs
Democratic candidate for New York’s 19th Congressional District, Julian Schreibman, announced Monday that he has been endorsed by the Rensselaer County Democratic Committee.
“Julian was the overwhelming choice of the Rensselaer County Democrats,” said party Chair Tom Wade. “Julian is the only candidate who can take on the Tea Party and beat Chris Gibson in the fall. Julian has spent his career fighting for justice, and he is the right man to clean up Washington.”
“It is my honor to receive this endorsement. Congressman Chris Gibson has done nothing to help the working men and women of upstate New York, and the folks here are fed up,” Schreibman said. “I have been blessed to live the American Dream and I want to make sure that all of our children know the same possibilities that I have had. I’m running for Congress to help bring jobs back to our community, protect Social Security and Medicare and to take on the Tea Party agenda that consistently puts special interests above the interests of the middle class.”
The Rensselaer County endorsement follows endorsements from the Dutchess, Greene, Columbia, Sullivan and Ulster County Democrats. These six counties constitute approximately 80% of the population in the 19th Congressional District. Julian has also received the endorsement of the Working Families Party and from labor groups including UFCW 1500, Teamsters 445, CWA District 1, Bricklayers #2 and the NY State Board BLET.
