Orange County has decided to defund the Valley View facility at the end of June and there is an effort to find a private buyer to continue its operation. The deadline for submission for proposals regarding the purchase was 4 p.m. Monday. Orange County Executive Edward Diana said the county has received four very strong proposals from groups seeking to buy the nursing home. The next step is for the review committee to look them over.
The committee, comprised of Legislators and County personnel, will hold their first meeting to review the proposals at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 9. We’re very pleased with the positive response to the Valley View RFP and look forward to a productive review session.
Orange County’s CSEA, which represents the workers at Valley View, is lobbying to keep it under country control.
