Transportation Council Announces Public Comment Period for Unified Planning Work Program
The Poughkeepsie-Dutchess County Transportation Council (PDCTC) has announced that the Transportation Council will hold a 30-day public comment period for the Draft 2015-2016 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP): the Council’s annual statement of work, identifying the federally funded planning activities to be carried out by the Council for the period April 1, 2015-March 31, 2016. The UPWP includes descriptions of planning tasks and resulting products, and identifies which organization will perform each task, a schedule for completing tasks, the cost of the work, and sources of funds.
The majority of funds used to support the UPWP come from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA). The Draft 2015-2016 UPWP programs over $900,000 in federal planning funds to support Council activities. These include updating the County’s long-range Metropolitan Transportation Plan, completing the Upper Route 9G Corridor Management Plan in the Red Hook-Tivoli area, completing the County-wide traffic count program, and assisting communities with their local transportation planning needs.
The Draft UPWP is available upon request or on the Transportation Council’s website. Public comments are due March 6, 2015.
