Pedestrian Struck By Car in Dutchess County

At approximately 7:33 pm on January 2, 2013, Hyde Park Police were dispatched to the scene of a car versus pedestrian accident in the area of Hess Gas station 3694 Albany Post Road.

Upon arrival Hyde Park Police found an adult male that had been struck by a vehicle. The victim was transported to St. Francis Hospital and is listed in serious condition with head and leg injuries. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old William C Greenly of Salt Point.

At this time it appears Greenly was crossing Albany Post Rd and was struck by a 1997 4dr Honda traveling North on St Rt9 in front of the Hess Gas Station. The accident is still being investigated and further details will be given as they are available. At this time no charges have been filed.

The Hyde Park Police are being assisted by the New York State Accident Reconstruction Team, Fairview Fire Department and Mobil Life Ambulance.
