Two arrested for theft of snowboards from Windham Mountain Ski Resort
On January 27, 2013, the New York State Police at Catskill report the arrests of Anthony Costa, age 21, from Lagrangeville and Adam B. Wiemer, age 20, from Verbank. Costa was charged with Grand Larceny in the third degree, a class D Felony and Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. Wiemer was arrested for the charges of Grand Larceny in the third degree, a class D Felony and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a Violation.
On January 27, 2013, State Police Catskill received a request from Greene County 911 to be on the lookout for a white Nissan Maxima that was reported to be involved in the theft of several snow boards from the Windham Mountain Ski Resort. Troopers located the vehicle traveling eastbound on State Route 23 in the Town of Cairo. Subsequent to a traffic stop of the vehicle, the driver, Costa, was found to be Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, and his passenger, Wiemer, was found to be in possession of marihuana. Further investigation revealed that the pair were in possession of 12 snow boards in the vehicle.
Investigation revealed that the snow boards had been taken earlier in the day from the Windham Mountain Ski Resort.
Both Costa and Wiemer were arraigned in the Town of Cairo Town Court before Hon. Leland Miller, who remanded the defendants to Greene County Jail in lieu of $1000.00 cash bail or $2,500 secured bond. They are scheduled to re-appear on January 30, 2013 at 5:00 pm in the Town of Cairo Court.
