Orange County Historic Grants Program Deadline March 15 Fast Approaching

Bush today reminded municipal historians, municipal records managers, libraries, historical societies, genealogical societies, museums, and historic site managers situated in Orange County that the application period for the County’s Historic Grant Program, which was announced in January, will close on Friday, March 15, 2013.
“Applicants are encouraged to complete and submit their paperwork prior to March 15 for consideration,” said Ms. Bush. “Grants may be used to fund the preservation of historic structures and sites, as well as management and development for collections of archives and artifacts, noting that commemorations may also be eligible.”
Grant applications are available on-line by visiting the County Historian’s Office section of the Orange County website at www.orangecountygov.com/history where links to the downloadable application packet have been provided or by calling (845) 291-2388.
Applications are due by 5:00 pm on Friday, March 15, 2013, and the funds will be awarded on or before May 30, 2013.
The historic grants program’s purpose is to support Orange County’s historical community in preserving and promoting its objects of an historical character.
