Orange County Executive Edward A. Diana is pleased to announce Susan Hawvermale, Orange County’s Director of Tourism, has been elected to serve as President of Hudson Valley Tourism Inc., the regional I LOVE NEW YORK agency for promoting tourism. The agency covers the ten counties bordering the Hudson River from Yonkers to Albany.
“The Hudson Valley is one the great treasures of New York State,” said County Executive Diana. “Director Hawvermale has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the areas of tourism and marketing to share, and she will be an asset to her colleagues in the Hudson Valley region in this volunteer role.”
“I am honored to serve as President of Hudson Valley Tourism,” said Director Hawvermale. “I look forward to promoting the Hudson Valley as not only a great place to visit, but also a great place to live, work, and raise a family.”
Director Hawvermale has been director of Orange County Tourism since 1992. She was one of 75 people in the United States chosen to be part of a national panel on Cultural Tourism. Her expertise has placed her on tourism task forces for both state and national legislators.
