Newburgh, NY – January 2011 — Mount Saint Mary College will hold an Open House on Saturday, January 22 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., 330 Powell Avenue, Newburgh, N.Y.
Prospective freshmen, transfer students and their families can learn about the Mount’s strong undergraduate programs for the health professions, education, business, human services and liberal arts.
Registration will be held in the Kaplan Family Mathematics, Science, and Technology (MST) Center atrium.
Prospective nursing students will want to visit the Nursing Learning Center at the MST Center. It includes computerized labs with patient simulators that can be programmed to duplicate human responses for assessment and care. Clinical experiences in community hospitals and healthcare agencies also offer Mount Saint Mary College students valuable career experience as they pursue their bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing.
During Open House, faculty and admissions counselors will provide information about such opportunities as the college’s robust internships, Career Center, student clubs and honors program.
Student ambassadors will lead tours of classrooms, updated residence halls and the renovated Aquinas dining hall, with new furnishings and large windows overlooking the Hudson River.
Another highlight of the tour includes six new tennis courts plus a new all weather, synthetic turf field which serves as home for the soccer and lacrosse teams.
More than 95% of Mount Saint Mary College freshmen receive some form of financial aid, making the Mount a very affordable choice for its 2,700 men and women.
To facilitate the transfer of credits, Mount Saint Mary College has special agreements with schools including Orange County Community College, Dutchess Community College, Rockland Community College, Sullivan County Community College and Ulster County Community College, as well as graduate schools.
