Police aren’t saying Antae Reese is a suspect, only that the neighbor of a woman who was shot to death along with two others, is a ‘person of interest’.
Reese, 26, was arrested and is being held on $100,000 cash or $250,000 bond for a misdemeanor drug charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The investigation into why and who committed the triple homicide a week ago at 98 South William Street has been ongoing, with police saying that investigators have interviewed several people since the early morning shooting.
52 year old Pamela Jenkins, who resided in the first floor apartment at 98 South William Street, was shot to death along with friends, 52 year Travis Blue and 43 year old John Lewis during the early hours of May 1, 2013. Reese, is said to live next door, in an upstairs apartment.
Reese’s apartment was searched shortly after the incident but Reese was not there. A team of City of Newburgh Police surrounded Reese’s vehicle during a traffic stop on Liberty Street Monday and took him into custody, according to Detective Lt. Dan Cameron.
City of Newburgh Chief, Michale Ferrara stated it appears there was only one shooter but added that the investigation is ongoing.
Newburgh police ask anyone with information about the triple homicide to call 561-3131.
