Fr. Kevin E. Mackin, OFM, president of Mount Saint Mary College, ranked a Top-Tier Regional University by U.S. News & World Report, has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities of New York State.
His three year term as a CICU trustee begins April 21, 2011. The commission represents 113 private, not for profit colleges across New York State.
Fr. Mackin serves as a Commissioner on the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, the organization that accredits more than 500 colleges and universities. He chairs the Skyline Athletic Conference, and is on the board of directors of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce, Pattern for Progress, and Newburgh Armory Unity Center.
He is also an associate priest at Church of the Holy Spirit, serving Cortland Manor and Peekskill in Westchester County.
Mount Saint Mary College overlooks the Hudson River Valley 60 miles north of New York City. The college offers strong career preparation in education, health professions, business, psychology, social services and liberal arts.
