Monticello police arrested 17 year old Daquan Butler of Monticello on Wednesday July 10, 2013. According to police, the victim was walking on Park Avenue with another male when Butler approached them. Butler then exchanged words with the victim and slashed him across the left side of his face with an unknown sharp edged object. Butler then fled the scene on foot.

The victim was then taken to Catskill Regional Medical Center by family members, where he was treated for very serious facial injuries. Family members then reported the incident to Monticello Police.
