Monticello police in conjunction with the Sullivan county welfare fraud unit arrested Henry Perilla, 51 of Monticello on Friday June 21, 2013.
Perilla was charged with felonies for welfare fraud in the 4th degree and offering a false instrument for filing in the 1st degree. Perilla was arrested following an investigation that revealed that he had filed a false statement with the Sullivan county dept. of family services and had received Medicaid benefits totaling more than $1000.00.
Perilla had claimed that his father was living with him in Monticello when in fact his father had been residing in the country of Columbia since 2010.
Perilla was released on an appearance ticket pending further court action in the village of Monticello justice court.
