MONTICELLO MAN ARRESTED FOR FELONY ASSAULT AND WEAPONS POSSESSION IN 11/12/12 SHOOTING INCIDENT
Monticello police have made an arrest in the November 12, 2o12 shooting incident that occurred at the Sunoco convenience store on Forestburg road in the village of Monticello. Arrested on Monday November 26, 2012 was Franklin Brinson (20) 0f Monticello.
Brinson was charged with felonies for assault in the 1st degree, criminal use of a firearm in the 1st degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the 2nd degree and reckless endangerment in the 1st degree.
At approximately 3:50 PM on November 12, 2o12 Brinson shot a 27 year-old Monticello man in the face and right leg with a handgun. The victim was airlifted to the Westchester medical center where he under went emergency surgery.
Brinson was arrested yesterday November 26, 2012 at 3PM in the town of Wallkill at the Horizon apartments on route 6 in Middletown. Monticello Police detectives with assistance from the New York state police major crimes unit located and arrested Brinson at the apartment complex after an intensive 2-week investigation.
Brinson was arraigned before acting village of Monticello justice Martin Miller and remanded to the Sullivan county jail without bail pending further court action. An investigation is still continuing.
