“MONTICELLO MAN AND WOMAN ARRESTED ON WEAPON AND DRUG CHARGES”
Monticello police arrested Andre Davis (28) and Jamiliah Daniels (18) both of Monticello on Friday June 1, 2012.
Davis was charged with felonies for criminal possession of weapon in the 2nd degree, criminal possession of stolen property in the 4th degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a chilled and unlawful possession of marihuana.
Daniels was charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful possession of marihuana.
At 12:50 pm Friday Davis and Daniels were arrested following a joint investigation between Monticello police, NYS parole and the Sullivan county sheriff department. Parole officers had received information that Davis who is currently on parole in nys for criminal possession of marihuana in the 2nd degree was in possession of a handgun and had been was observed near the Monticello Wal-Mart in the town of Thompson and also at evergreen drive in the village of Monticello. Monticello police and sheriff deputies began searching for Daniels and he was located traveling in a 2008 Honda accord on Park Avenue in the village of Monticello along with Daniels and her 2-year-old daughter. A traffic stop on the vehicle resulted in officers locating a loaded .40 caliber handgun in the vehicle, a quantity of ecstasy pills, and marihuana. A computer file check of the handgun also revealed it had been stolen in the state of South Carolina in 2007. Davis was remanded to the Sullivan county jail without bail. Daniels was remanded on $2500.00 bail pending further court action. Daniels daughter was turned over to family members following the arrest.

Monticello police arrested Kuidon Tole (42) of Monticello and Lisa Griffin (44) of rock hill on Friday June 1 2012. Tole and griffin were charged with felonies for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 4th and 5th degrees, tampering with physical evidence, misdemeanors for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument.
At 8:00 p.m. Friday Monticello police responded to a report of a disturbance at apt #5 of 9-spring street in the village of Monticello. When officers approached the apartment they could hear griffin arguing over the use of drugs with tole. Officers knocked on the door and when griffin opened it they could see cocaine and other drug paraphernalia in plain view. Griffin then used her hands to brush cocaine on a dresser onto the floor when realized it was police officers at the door. Tole and griffin were then arrested. Officers recovered approximately 3.5 grams of cocaine, crack pipes and hypodermic needles. Tole and griffin were both remanded to the Sullivan county jail without bail pending further court action.
