LoBiondo Law Offices to Hold Free NYS Uncontested Divorce Legal ClinicFeb 4th, 2013 | By HV Insider | Category: Community Calendar
LoBiondo Law Offices will be conducting a free Uncontested Divorce Legal Clinic, to help unrepresented parties fill out uncontested NYS divorce papers, on Saturday February 16, 2013 from 12 pm to 2pm, at their Newburgh law office, located at 36 North Plank Road, Newburgh, NY.
“This is purely a community service, that we offer from time to time,” said Juliana LoBiondo, who has been a practicing divorce and family law attorney for over 22 years. “I have found, over the past two decades of practice, that New York State has tried to help unrepresented litigants by coming up with the New York State uncontested divorce packet. However, I have yet to see anyone outside of a major profession, such as law or accounting, be able to fill out this packet by themselves. People who cannot afford attorneys’ fees but have no real issues to grind out in court often have their papers rejected time and again by the courts due to small missteps. This clinic, like all our free community clinics, is geared to help people who do not have an attorney, cannot afford an attorney, and do not have complicated issues. We will hand out the NYS uncontested divorce packet, tell people how to fill out the papers, and give out our own Guideline and the court fee schedule. We conduct this classroom style, not one-on-one. Afterward, those who attend should have enough information to file the papers themselves.”
Space is limited and these free clinics fill up quickly. Seating preference will be given to fans of the the LoBiondo Page, the LoBiondos’ community page on Facebook. Call LoBiondo Law Offices at (845) 569-7600 to reserve a seat. “As Team Mom for Newburgh Rowing, I ask, but certainly do not require, that anyone attending who can, make a modest donation to the Newburgh Rowing Scholarship Program. This funds the Cpl. Tremblay Memorial Scholarship and the Lt. Abby Mennerich Honorary Scholarship and helps local high school rowers attend college. Checks may be made payable to the “Newburgh Rowing Club” and are tax-deductible.”
Juliana LoBiondo practices law with her husband and law partner, Anthony LoBiondo, who has a practice emphasizing personal injury law, DWI defense, criminal defense and education law. They offer free initial consultations and Mr. LoBiondo is available 7 days a week. For more information or to sign up for the free legal clinic, call (845) 569-7600.
