Charles S. North, President and CEO of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce, announces that Rich Kleban will become the organization’s Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, replacing Gloria Cukar. Cukar has accepted a position as Senior Director of External Affairs with MidHudson Regional Hospital of Westchester Medical Center effective in early 2015.

“Gloria has done a tremendous job here since arriving at the beginning of 2001,” North said. “She has helped elevate the Chamber to the level it is at currently, worked to put the best people in place within our organization, grow membership, secure sponsorships, and she has been an outstanding ambassador for the Dutchess County business community. I know she will be successful in her new role, and I wish her nothing but the best.”

“Working with Charlie North and the team at the Chamber has been one of the great honors of my professional life,” Cukar said. “I’m extremely proud of the work we’ve accomplished in the last decade and my role in growing the Chamber to the community pillar it is today.  I know I leave the organization in extremely capable hands and am confident it will continue to raise the bar and set the standard for what a Chamber of Commerce can and should be.”

Kleban, the current Vice President of Communications, has been with the Chamber since 2011. He is the former Managing Editor of the Poughkeepsie Journal and he has 25 years of management experience.

“Rich has done an outstanding job since arriving at the Chamber, elevating our Communications Department and helping promote the Chamber and all our programs,” North said. “I couldn’t be happier to have the ability to move him into this role. We won’t miss a beat.”

“Of course we are sorry to see Gloria go, but the Chamber is in good hands with Rich as Senior Vice President,” said Frank M. Castella, Jr., incoming President and CEO of the Chamber. “We are such a strong and vibrant organization, and we look forward to continuing to best serve the regional business community.”
