Jersey Man Busted With Forged Prescriptions

Monticello police arrested Phillip Garcia (39) of Clifton, NJ on Wednesday Jaunary 11, 2012.

Garcia was charged with 3 counts of felony criminal possession of a forged instrument in the 2nd degree.

Garcia was arrested after he had attempted to have 3 forged physician prescriptions for oxycodone filled at a village of Monticello pharmacy.

Personnel at the pharmacy were suspicious of the prescriptions and when they contacted one of the doctor offices that Garcia had provided a prescription from it was confirmed to be forged. Monticello police were then notified and arrested Garcia when he returned to the pharmacy with two additional forged prescriptions.

Garcia was remanded to the Sullivan county jail on $20,000.00 bail pending further court action.
