Hyde Park Police Arrest 2 Men in a Hate Crime IncidentSep 3rd, 2013 | By HV Insider | Category: Featured Articles
On August 28, 2013 at approximately 2:15pm the Hyde Park Police Department was dispatched to the area of Route 9G and East Market for a dispute in the roadway. The victims state they were walking down the roadway when a vehicle with two occupants went by screaming racial slurs out the window towards them. The driver got out of the vehicle and got into a physical altercation with one of the victims who is a 14 year old male. When one of the other victims attempted to break up the fight the second male exited his vehicle, displayed a handgun and threatened the victims. The two men then got into the vehicle and fled the scene.
The Hyde Park Police located the vehicle and the subjects at a residence on South Quaker lane.
The suspects were identified as 19 year old Scott R. Lesoine and 33 year old Wayne A. Ellis, both of Hyde Park.
Lesoine was arrested and arraigned in front of Judge Kennedy for the charges of Aggravated Harassment in the 2nd Degree (a Hate Crime) a Class A Misdemeanor, Endangering the Welfare of a Child A Class A Misdemeanor (2 Counts) and remanded to Dutchess County Jail on $4,000 cash or $8,000 bail bond.
Ellis was arrested and arraigned in front of Judge Kennedy for the charges of Menacing in the 2nd Degree a Class A Misdemeanor (3 Counts), Endangering the Welfare of a Child A Class A Misdemeanor (2 Counts). He was also remanded to Dutchess County Jail
on $2,500.00 cash or $5,000.00 bail bond.
