Hudson Valley Young Professionals Office Chair Challenge September 10Sep 3rd, 2013 | By HV Insider | Category: Business News
The Hudson Valley Young Professionals, a committee of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce, are hosting the Fourth Annual Office Chair Challenge, this year featuring a medieval theme, on Tuesday, September 10 from 5-8 p.m. at All Sport Health and Fitness in Fishkill to raise money for the group’s scholarship fund. All parts of the competition will be held at the All Sport Outdoor Park weather permitting. Team check-in begins at 4 p.m. before the Challenge takes place from 5-7:30 p.m. with an awards presentation to follow.
The Office Chair Challenge pits teams of two from area companies and non-profit agencies against one another in wacky competitions that require participants to navigate through obstacles and complete tasks while seated and rolling in their desk chairs. Prizes are awarded to the top performing teams; best decorated chairs; most spirited cheering section and more. For complete information about the event, visit hvyp.org/officechairchallenge.
Team sign-ups for the Office Chair Challenge are now open. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Hudson Valley Young Professionals scholarship awarded annually by The Chamber Foundation, Inc. Last year, due to the success of the Office Chair Challenge, the HVYPs were able to award two scholarships instead of just one for the first time. For a $60 registration donation, competitors will participate in at least four Challenge events, enjoy complimentary food and drink at the competition site, be outfitted with official Office Chair Challenge t-shirts and more. Spectators are encouraged to attend the Office Chair Challenge as well. For just a $10 donation, attendees will enjoy complimentary food and drink, live DJ presented by 92.7/96.9 WRRV, be eligible to win great raffle prizes, play on an inflatable jousting game and see their employees and co-workers engage in one of the most fun and hilarious events of the year.
The Hudson Valley Young Professionals provides its members opportunities to learn, lead, grow personally and professionally, network effectively and give back to the community. Through educational forums, training sessions, social networking events, and community involvement, the group gives members the tools to develop personal and leadership skills in a professional environment. The Chamber believes that the more informed, involved and networked young professionals are, the more likely it is that they will stay in the region, and the more influence they can have on what the Hudson Valley becomes.
