Greenwood Lake Mayor Endorses Brabenec For Assembly

Feb 16th, 2014 | By | Category: Political

Greenwood Lake Mayor Jesse Dwyer has endorsed Karl Brabenec for New York State Assembly in the 98th District. Dwyer, flanked by Brabenec and former Congresswoman Nan Hayworth, made his announcement at a Brabenec campaign event.

“The Village of Greenwood Lake has so much promise, opportunity for the future, and we will need a strong charismatic voice to fight for the needs of our residents in Albany,” said Mayor Dwyer.  “Karl knows the challenges that we face as state border communities, he has fought for common sense reforms, business development, and has kept taxes stable in his hometown of Deerpark.  He is absolutely the right man to help change our state for the better and to advocate for our residents.”

“I want to thank Mayor Dwyer for his kind words and I’m honored to have the support of someone as accomplished and dedicated as Jesse, a young Mayor, just 28 years old, who’s doing such great things for his community and moving Greenwood Lake forward,” said Brabenec. ” I look forward to being a partner with Mayor Dwyer and all mayors and supervisors in the district to come up with common-sense reforms helping the residents in the 98th district.”

The 98th district seat was vacated earlier this year when Annie Rabbitt resigned to take office as Orange County Clerk. The 98th district includes the towns of Monroe, Warwick, Deerpark, Greenville, Minisink, Tuxedo, portions of Ramapo, and the City of Port Jervis. Karl Brabenec has been the Deerpark Town Supervisor since 2010. He announced his candidacy for the Assembly seat in December. He has been endorsed by the Deerpark, Port Jervis, and Minisink Republican Committees, in addition to Monroe Mayor James Purcell.
