God of Carnage Begins Two Week Run at The BeaconFeb 25th, 2013 | By HVI Editor | Category: Entertainment
GOD OF CARNAGE TO BE PERFORMED AT THE BEACON OPENS FRIDAY, FEB. 22ND
The Beacon Theatre, the performance hall celebrating its 79th year on historic Main Street, welcomes God of Carnage from its house theatre company, the acclaimed 4th Wall Productions. 4th Wall will be presenting the Tony Award winning play for a two week run starting February 22nd.
Written by Yasmina Reza and directed by Kathy Ceng, God of Carnage centers around a playground altercation between eleven-year-old boys that brings together two sets of Brooklyn parents for a meeting to resolve the matter. At first, diplomatic niceties are observed, but as the meeting progresses, and the rum flows, tensions emerge and the gloves come off, leaving the couples with more than just their liberal principles in tatters.
God of Carnage is Reza’s other Broadway hit having also written Art which 4th Wall Productions produced to rave reviews in 2012 and it is the company’s latest show since the hit For Colored Girls Who Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf played to sold-out crowds back in January.
Performances for God of Carnage will be from February 22nd to March 3rd with Friday and Saturdays performances at 8PM and Sunday matinees at 3PM. Doors open one half hour before the start of the performances. Patrons are encouraged to purchase their tickets online at The Beacon – God of Carnage to guarantee availability.
