At 2pm on Thursday, June 21st a house fire developed in a residential area of Port Jervis which completely engulfed the home at 106 N. Orange street.
The fire was of such intensity that adjacent homes to each side were partially burned as well. Although there were no fire felated injuries, the occupant of 106 N. Orange sustained minor injuries as she ran to escape the inferno and fell outside the residence.
Port Jervis polce reports do not indicate foul play or suspicion of arson although the investigation continues by officials of the fire and police departments.
The home which was the source of the blaze was completely destroyed.
Detective Wordon from the PJPD is heading the investigation.
Five firefighters and one resident were taken to the hospital or treated at the scene.
Fire departments from Montague, New Jersey and Matamoras, Pennsylvania were called to help as well as units from Middletown and Monticello.
