Explore the Mount at January 28 open house

Mount Saint Mary College will offer an open house for high school students and their families on Sunday, January 28, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the campus, 330 Powell Ave. in Newburgh, N.Y.

Prospective freshmen can learn about undergraduate programs preparing students for careers in health professions, business, education, social services, communication/media, math, science, philosophy, and other fields.


Students may speak with academic advisors about their plans, while being wowed by the college’s magnificent views of the Hudson River. Advisors and counselors will help students regarding application, transferring credits, and obtaining financial aid.


Participants can also meet faculty and current students, tour labs, and discover internships and research opportunities.


In addition to the regular open house program, the event will feature special sessions for those interested in the Mount’s Natural Science offerings, including Biology, Chemistry, and more.


For adults, grad students, and those looking to complete a degree, the Mount will host an info session from 5 to 7 p.m. on February 1. The session will take place in the college’s James Finn Cotter Villa Library on campus, 330 Powell Avenue, Newburgh, N.Y.


The Mount offers bachelor’s degree completion programs for adult students in an accelerated evening and weekend format. Programs include:

–       Accounting

–       Business Management and Administration

–       Human Services

–       Interdisciplinary (general degree completion)

–       Interdisciplinary toward Childhood Education

–       Nursing and RN to BS in Nursing

–       Psychology


Additionally, the college offers master’s degrees in these exciting fields: Business (including an MBA in Healthcare), Nursing, and Education.
