Two men were killed in an early morning crash early Saturday morning in the City of Newburgh

City of Newburgh police are reporting that 26 year old Jorge Alberto Ayala and his 18 year old brother Soniel Alberto Ayala were both killed when the 2003 BMW they were travelling in crashed just about 5:00 AM this morning in the area of Leroy and Forsyth Place in the City.

The vehicle had left the roadway and collided with a tree resulting in the vehicle striking a parked car in a driveway on Leroy Place. The impact caused that vehicle to be pushed into another parked vehicle and debris from the crash caused damage to a third parked vehicle.

The elder Ayala was driving and pronounced dead at the scene. Soniel Alberto Ayala was extracted from the vehicle by City of newburgh Fire Department and taken to St Luke’s Cornwall Hospital by Mobile Life where he was later pronounced deceased.

The two brothers were the only occupants in the vehicle and no others were hurt in the accident.

City firefighters also extinguished some debris that had caught fire at the accident scene

Police closed portions of Leroy Place to conduct the investigation. Speed is believed to be a contributing factor. The speed limit in the City of Newburgh is 30 MPH.

It is unknown at the time of this release if alcohol or drugs are involved.
