At approximately 12:03am on June 15, 2012, the Town of Hyde Park Police responded to the 1088 Violet Ave for a reported large fight in progress. Patrols arrived and found several people fighting and one male seriously injured from a stab wound.
During the altercation, a Hyde Park man was stabbed in the left shoulder requiring surgery at St. Francis Hospital. The injury was serious in nature but not considered life threatening.
Town of Hyde Park Police with the assistance of the Dutchess County Sheriffs located the suspect who was attempting to leave the area in a vehicle.
The suspect is identified as Howard Hill of Hyde Park.
Hill was arrested and charged with felony assault. He was arraigned in Hyde Park Justice Court in front of Judge Steinberg and remanded to Dutchess County Jail with no bail.
