Deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s help in finding the driver involved in a hit and run accident at the intersection of State Route 32 and State Route 213 in Rifton Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 5:00pm June 20th, Deputies were dispatched to a two car personal injury motor vehicle accident in which one of the drivers fled the scene. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle, Amanda Murray age 24 of Marlboro and Joshua Cabrera age 28 of Highland, were injured as a result of the incident.
Both Murray and Cabrera were transported to Kingston Hospital by the Town of Esopus Volunteer ambulance for neck and back injuries.
Deputies were assisted by TEVAS, Rifton Fire Department and the Ulster County 911 center
Witnesses to the accident report the vehicle that fled as a Gray in Color late model Volvo with heavy front end damage and that the operator was a white male wearing a blue shirt and sunglasses.
The vehicle was last seen heading South on State Route 32 into the New Paltz area.
