Days After Being Charged With Raping 2 Teen Girls Saugerties Man Apparently Commits Suicide

Police confirmed Monday that the body of Denzel Francis, 21, was found in a cemetery dead of a gunshot wound. The circumstances surrounding the death are unknown but officials are handling the death as a suicide.

The Ulster County Family Violence Unit announces the arrest of Denzel Francis, 21, of Saugerties, NY, for the felony charges of Rape in the third degree, (two counts), and misdemeanor charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, (two counts).
Francis was due back in Village of Saugerties court on June 11.
An investigation is continuing by Saugerties police.
