The New York State Police at Cortlandt announces the arrest of Angela Goldsmith, 32, of Croton-on-Hudson, New York. On April 21, 2012, just after 1:00 a.m., Goldsmith was being transported by ambulance from her residence to Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Cortlandt Manor. It is alleged Goldsmith became irrate and hostile and becoming physical with the paramedic on board the ambulance coupled with verbal threats.
The paramedic and an EMT on board suffered minor injuries in the scuffle.
Goldsmith was arrested and charged with one count of Attempted Assault in the 2nd Degree, because the victim of the assault is a paramedic or emergency medical technician performing their official duties the charge is raised to a felony.
Goldsmith was arraigned in the Town of Cortlandt Criminal Court and her case was continued until Monday, April 30, 2012.
Additional charges are possible.
