Anyone that calls the Hudson Valley home has heard of the Irish duo; Cray and Dempsey. If you haven’t, pay close attention as these guys are diamonds in the rough – all be it unpolished diamonds – which is just a minor detail that can be worked out. Long before they were the two piece band they are today both Paul Cray and Derek Demspey played in several bands together throughout Europe and the United States.The pair have been together for the better part of 25 years. Now whether their time together during the 80′s playing in hair bands, could be called better, we’ll let them decide. Not to be outdone by anyone during the Rock of Ages era both Paul and Derek sported big teased hair, wore tight leather pants or old ripped jeans and played their music loud.

The past decade has found them in a different light. Instead of screaming vocals and electric guitar licks they choose to use their own style of entertainment to brighten the lives of all they perform for. Usually When you hear the words ‘Irish entertainers‘ visions immediately begin of bagpipes, kilts, red-headed Irish dancing girls and plaid skirts. Throw in the occasional limerick and that’s the extent of the stereotypical view of Irish entertainment for most.

The Cray and Dempsey Experience is anything but typical. It’s the most unique Irish experience you’ll ever see. The pair brings several genres of music together including rap, rock and Irish folk.  They put their own spin on such hits as Snoop Dogg’s “Gin & Juice”, “Sweet Caroline” and “500 Miles” along with many all-time favorites from the 70′s, 80′s, 90′s and today. Mix that in with crowd participation and comic insults, where no one is safe, and you’ve got what makes the pair unique and what everyone has come to expect from the two Irish born musicians.

Cray & Dempsey are the self proclaimed hardest working band in the world and you wont hear anything from me to argue that fact. It’s not easy to put yourself out there night after night hoping to entertain everyone in a limited amount of time. New and old faces alike fill the rooms they play and Cray and Dempsey always bring it 100%. Whether you’re seeing them for the first time or you’re a faithful follower you can expect the best during each and every performance. They’re rude. They’re crude. They’re Irish and they’re rockin’ and you’ll love them.
