The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department has been actively investigating a series of residential burglaries which occurred over the Holiday week, between December 25, 2012 and January 2, 2013. During this period, six houses had been forcibly entered and valuables removed. As a result of these incidents the Police sought the assistance of the Public.
With the cooperation of witnesses and victims, together with the identification of suspects by the Patrol and Detective Divisions of the Police Department, the following persons believed to be involved have been arrested; Joshua K. Lee age:32, an Esopus resident, arrested on warrants from the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Department, Town of Poughkeepsie, and the Town of Lloyd; John F. Forester age:47 a Wallkill resident, charged with Burglary 2nd a C/felony; Freddy H. Anderson age:50 a Poughkeepsie resident, arrested and charged with a warrant for Violation of Parole; Jose E. Young age:38, a Poughkeepsie resident, arrested on a warrant for Violation of Parole; Antonio Santiago age:53, homeless, arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th, a class A/Misdemeanor, Sara Rifenburgh age:28, homeless, arrested and charged with False Personation, a B/Misdemeanor.
Additional charges are forthcoming for the people arrested and additional persons are expected to be charged as it relates to this investigation.
Some of the stolen property which includes jewelry, coins, knives, and a bicycle has been recovered and additional property is being sought.
