Newburgh City Police are still investigating an incident that took place Friday afternoon on Park Place in Newburgh where a pedestrian was struck by a car and later died from her injuries.
62 year old Maureen Eadry was walking alone when a vehicle struck and ran her over while backing up.
Eadry was still able to speak to emergency responders at the scene. She was taken to St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh where she died just hours later from the injuries suffered.
The driver’s name has not been released but was interviewed on scene and at this time no tickets had been issued and no charges are expected.
