The City of Newburgh Police Narcotics Unit and the City of Newburgh Detective Division executed two “No Knock” search warrants after an investigation into two locations that were distributing marihuana. The two locations were not believed to be working together.
On 03/18/11 at 11:14am a search warrant was executed at 260 First St. on the first floor. Police recovered a total of 73.6 grams of marijuana and a loaded 9mm Taurus Handgun with a defaced serial number was located on one of the occupant’s person at the time police entered. Arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana 5th degree a Misdemeanor was Terrence Evans, 21, Theo Cooper, 20, and Marlon Mattos, 26 all of Newburgh. Marlon Mattos was also charged with Criminal Possession of Weapon 2nd degree a felony.
On 03/18/11 at 2:17pm a search warrant was executed on an old store front located at 56 Chambers St. Police recovered 54.4 grams of marijuana. Arrested for Criminal Possession of Marijuana 5th degree was Dennis Williams, 47 and Cyril Myrie, 68 both of Newburgh.
