City of Newburgh Police are investigating the robbery of a cab driver late Monday night.
Police say the driver, a 23 year old female, picked up two male passengers near 30 Hasbrouck Street about 10:30 PM when one of the men pulled a gun and placed the driver in a choke hold. The second man punched the 14 year old front seat passenger.
Both of the thieves fled on foot towards William Street. Police say they made off with a cell phone, cash and jewelry. The driver and the teen passnger didn’t suffer any serious injuries.
Detectives are asking anyone that may have seen anything or have information about the robbery to call 845.561.3131
The men are described as black men in their late teens, wearing dark clothing. One man is said to have gray on his jacket.
