After being on the run for 48 hours, convicted child rapist Paul Curry of Grahamsville was taken into custody by New York State Police.
Curry was awaiting sentencing for rape when he was tipped off that Deputies were headed to his home to arrest him on a warrant for violating an order of protection by contacting his 12-year-old victim. Sullivan County Sheriff Deputies asked for assistance from the public in helping apprehend the 38 year old.
After receiving information that Curry was holed up in a Town of Thompson home, State Police in Liberty took him into custody. Curry had ingested a large amount of pills just prior to his capture and was taken immediately to Catskill Regional Medical Center where he was turned over to sheriff’s deputies at the hospital.
Sullivan County Court Judge Michael McGuire arraigned him in the hospital and revoked his bail in the pending case.
Curry was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail upon release from the hospital.
