In a ceremony held on Sunday, December 29, at Pleasant Valley Town Hall, Supervisor-elect Carol Campbell was administered the oath of office by Dutchess County Court Judge Stephen Greller.
Town Historian Fred Schaeffer was the Master of Ceremonies for the event which featured six elected officials taking their oath in front of a room full of family, friends, and onlookers.
Before administering the oaths, Judge Greller intimated that he had fond memories of Pleasant Valley, having served as the Assistant District Attorney assigned to the Pleasant Valley Justice Court many years ago.
Supervisor-elect Carol Campbell also provided a few memories of her own, having lived in Pleasant Valley for her entire life and now has children and grandchildren living in town. Campbell was accompanied by her husband Robert, holding the family bible, as Judge Greller administered the oath. After the oath Campbell recognized many of the dignitaries in the room and was quoted as saying “I look forward to serving the residents of Pleasant Valley with unbridled enthusiasm.”
The ceremony also included the swearing-in of Donald Sagliano and Michael Kelsey as county legislators, Hon. Paul Caltagirone, town justice, and two town board members; Stephen Albrecht and Mark Figliozzi.
