Bull and Buddha to Host After-Party for Bardavon Gala Featuring Tony Bennett
Jan 13th, 2012 | By HV Insider | Category: In Your TownInternationally acclaimed singer Tony Bennett will be in Poughkeepsie March 11 to perform at the Bardavon 1869 Opera House’s annual gala. Bull and Buddha will host the after-party with hors d’oeuvres and desserts, cocktails, free-flowing champagne, and of course, lots of dancing! (Black tie is optional.) It is the second year the premier fundraising event will be held at Bull and Buddha, who handled last year’s after-gala featuring Diana Ross.
Bennett, 85, winner of 15 Grammys and two Emmys, has been honored by The Kennedy Center in Washington. The iconic entertainer has performed with a wide range of musicians, including Elton John, Sting, Amy Winehouse, Ray Charles, Billy Joel and Stevie Wonder.
After the show, Gala guests will stroll up Market Street and take a right onto Main Street, where some 500 people are expected to keep the party going at Bull and Buddha, located around the corner from the Bardavon in downtown Poughkeepsie. Bull and Buddha is the premier private events venue in town offering an urban interior with exotic design elements from the East; state of the art sound system and lighting; curtained cabanas with large leather couches and loveseats, and a large dance floor. Bull and Buddha sets the perfect stage for any celebration.
Said Chris Silva, executive director of Bardavon 1869 Opera House, “Last year Bull and Buddha did a great job with the party, people danced ‘til the wee hours, and we’re very happy to be coming back again this year.”
Sponsors and gala ticket holders receive premier seating at the gala, post-show party at Bull and Buddha, and a tax deductible contribution. Tickets will go on sale to Bardavon members at 11 a.m., Jan. 11 with remaining ones to the public at 11 a.m., Jan. 18.
