On Wednesday September 4, 2013, State Police from Troop T received a report of an abandoned vehicle located on the Tappan Zee Bridge.

When Troopers arrived, they observed a grey Honda Accord with no one around.  No notes from the driver were left, however the keys were with the vehicle and a driver’s license was found on the front seat. Putting those circumstances together, State Police began a possible recovery operation.

The missing person was identified as 20 year old Denis Lukashkov of Mamaroneck.

State Police Aviation and Navigation Teams have been searching the Hudson River and surrounding areas for evidence of a person jumping from the bridge with negative results.

A body was pulled from the Hudson River on Saturday September 8. Dental records confirmed it was the body of Lukashkov.

If anyone has any information that would assist in the investigation, contact State Police Tarrytown at 914-524-0223.
